NetSuite Announced as Presenting Sponsor
A huge thank you to Evan Goldberg and NetSuite for joining us this year as our Presenting Sponsor. Their $12,000 sponsorship of the event means that we are just a few thousand dollars short of covering the tournament budget for 2007. Once the $55,000 in costs are met all further revenue goes to our charity recipient; St. John’s Educational Threshold Center of San Francisco. Western Athletic Clubs’ will match all net proceed's with a challenge grant of $25,000.
St. John’s was chosen for their dedicated work with youth and families in the historic Mission District of San Francisco. It is St. John’s belief that a holistic approach to youth development provides the community the opportunity to revitalize their neighborhood and to train their youth to become leaders in their own right.
Thanks again too Evan and NetSuite.

Ryan Donegan announced as our 2007 wild card entry
Every tournament organizer/promoter is allowed to enter one player of their choice into the main draw of a P.S.A. event. This is a player whose world ranking would normally be too low to get into the tournament without some assistance. Typically promoters use the wildcard on their local pro, or an aspiring junior, to create local interest. Last year we gave our wild card entry to U.S. #1 Julian Illingworth. This year we are continuing to help our U.S. players by giving the position to U.S. Men’s Team member Ryan Donegan. Ryan is currently ranked #121 in the world and the ranking points that he will gain from our event should help to lift him into the top 100. Ryan is originally from Chicago, but is now the assistant squash pro at The Racquet Club in St. Louis. If you are interested in finding out more about Ryan then this months Squash Magazine spotlight article is all about him.
Black Knight Sponsorship Confirmed
Thanks go to Bob Morgan and Black Knight for supporting our event for the third year running. BK will be Patron Sponsors at the $1,000 level.
Bay Club members Todd Johnson, Bobby Del Rosario, and Chuck Elliott are the first three to secure their tournament seats by purchasing Spectator Packages. Thanks guys! I’m hoping more Bay Club members will step up in the next couple of weeks. The tournament budget is $60,000, and at this point we are one third of the way there. Please support the event!
